 Berchtesgadener

 Konigsee

On our third last day, we drove to Berchtesgadener, which was a small town that was really close to the Austrian/Germany border. We stayed at the nicest hotel ever, it was a family-owned place so it felt so homey and cosy. The last photo is of the outside area of the hotel, I didn't get any photos inside but it was so lovely, and we had a little balcony outside our room too.

Our main destination for that day was the Konigsee area. We had planned to go hiking there and take some photos from where you can oversee the entire Konigsee lake. But unfortunately we got up too late, and you needed at least the entire day to complete the hike. So we just decided to take the boat ride along the Konigsee lake and just take some photos.

The weather was so nice that day, as you can see from one of the photos above, I actually got to wear my huge sun hat (which kinda got a bit crushed inside my suitcase but oh well). The water was SO clear that it looked like a mirror. Everywhere that you pointed your camera at looked like something from a postcard. And even at the two stops along the boat ride, there were lots of hiking and walking trails that you can follow, but we didn't have time so that was a bit of a shame.

I would love to go back there and just spend a good week in the same place, and just follow different hiking trails everyday, instead of rushing around trying to do 'touristy' things all day which is way too exhausting at times.

(Only two more posts on our trip to Germany!)
